The rumor that the next flagship phablet of Samsung will be called the Galaxy Note 7 instead of the expected Note 6 is already old (ish) news. The latest rumor about the smartphone that may launch in September during IFA is that it might come with an iris scanner. This technology is considered the one with the tiniest margin of error among all the security features available in the market now and so having it on your device would be a huge selling point.
The rumor started because of a leaked screenshot of a beta firmware in the Samsung Galaxy Beta program. Apparently, based on translations since it’s in Korean, there is a new option in the Privacy setting and that’s for the iris scanner. This will be found in the next flagship device that Samsung will be releasing. And based on past years, that next one will be the Galaxy Note smartphone. Now whether it will be called 7 or 6 is still anyone’s guess. There have also been around 200 units of iris scanners shipped to India from South Korea, which may give credence to these rumors.
